Quick question

From what I understand, it should work being that it was an option for the Vostro 1710. The Vostro 1700 came standard with the Nvidia 8400M GS.

Their is a few different parts in the vostro 1700 different from other vostros, I own the one without the 8400m gs, Mine is onboard. I have the vostro 1700 1.4ghz dual core 2, but I know theirs a vostro 1700 dual core 2 2.2ghz out with the 8400 which annoys me lol

I just noticed something, If I where to go in bios I'd figure it out stright away, because it would say on-board graphics enabled and their is none so I highly doubt I could fit it in and even if I did I couldn't disable onboard.

O well.

I wanted to play some decent games then this wolfenstien

B. Upgrading an integrated card is IMPOSSIBLE

If your notebook has any of the integrated solutions (IGP) listed below or older, those cards are built into the motherboard, and it is virtually impossible to upgrade them. The PCI Express Graphics attach port, used by discrete graphics solutions, is disabled on those motherboards.

- Intel: GMA 900, GMA 950, X3100
- Ati: Xpress 200M, Xpress 1100, Xpress 1150, Xpress X1250, Xpress X1270
- Nvidia: Go 6100, Go 6150, 7150M

Again, you cannot upgrade an integrated video card.
