Control 28 vs Control 28T-60

Would the difference warrant the purchase of the Control 28T-60, assuming I had the correct setup?

The Control 28T-60 would perform worse in a home office, with dangerous voltages, and added cost and complexity. They also don't have built in amplifiers, which are nice and decrease the complexity and increase the reliability.

IMO the JBL Control are far overkill and not intended for what you want them, for starters they are not even magnetically shielded and shouldn't be used around CRT's. I'd recommend going to a store and listening to a bunch of speakers and seeing which ones you like. In a home office enviroment speakers should quite reliable regardless of price, and all the amps should be fairly reliable.

He will be powering them off an existing stereo system in the office so I don't think they'll be next to the monitor.

I think you would do well with the one's you posted in your other thread:

JBL Control 1 Pro

I think I'll go with that instead. Seems less complicated.
