Is This Rig Good for GAMING?

those are some newer benches (or at least ones I haven't seen), do you have a link...? I like to save them in my benches folder...
Actually, this was the first HD 4870 review published, one day before the June 25th release.
I still stand by my point, roughly 25% better performance for almost twice the price, I'll keep my 4850 (please be here Monday, please, please...) and overclock it...
A $100 price increase for 25% more performance. You have to remember you're not getting just that though, there is also the more complex PCB, the larger cooler, the higher binned RV770 and the expensive GDDR5.

Better than paying that much to get 10% more performance when going up to the GTX 280.
MEMORY- 4GB 240-PIN PC2-5300 CL5 18c 2x256x4 Registered ECC DDR2-667 DIMM VLP MICRON MODULE
The Q9770 runs a 1600MHz FSB, you'll require at least 800MHz DDR.

I checked out the memory that worshipme recommended...
I did some searching as well...

between the two, which is better... is there a relative difference between the two???

CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

and

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

WAAAAA i need to buy a new one... say, is 800mhz the highest...
maybe i should hire someone >.< uck

The XMS2's have many different revisions with different modules (I'm so unlucky, I got rev 2.1 with the ProMOS :p). If you go with the G.Skill kit I recommended, you're almost sure to get the Powerchips.

what do you mean "almost sure to get the Powerchips"??? ???

Because there are other revisions, but from what I've heard, G.Skill has more recently been using only the Powerchip modules on the 4-4-4-12 kit,

sweet, the 4850 is making up ground then, I wonder why...?

maybe I don't get your point, all these "extras" still only make the 4870 15%-25% better, they still tie into the bottom line, the performance of the card...

a $100 price increase is still almost double the price when talking about a card that only costs $150, $100 is huge to a budget or casual gamer...

i've seen 5-4-4-12 and 4-4-4-12 memories before... what does this mean exactly?
is lower better??????????
