i assume my scores are so low because my cpu is bottlenecking?

200gb ide hd..which is about to die any day now

Old soundblaster audigy 2 zs soundcard..

also some generic cd/dvd burner which is also ide..

what do you guys think i should upgrade?
 
Depends on how much money you're willing to spend. I would make a switch from AMD to Intel. I'm not a fanboy or anything, I just don't know much about AMD, and to me the E8400/3110 seems like one of the best investments out there. This will require the CPU and a new motherboard of course. Then if you get an SLI mobo, you can add another 9600GT or you can sell yours and get an HD4850 (I would get the HD4850 over an SLI).
 
yeah that cpu isent very good, that and 1 gb of ram also. you should get a better cpu and if you can 1 more gb of ram, unless you dont game, i know when i went from a better cpu and 2gb's of ram it was nice being able to actualy run games good haha

I was thinking of going intel..but i'm on a tight budget of 150 dollars..

is my psu powerful enough to handle a 5800+ or 6000+ ?
 
Could my lack of performance be bios issue?

up on the psu, for my rig, see below, im running it on a 420w PSU that came with the case.

if uve got about 300 bucks,

tigerdirect.com has a nforce 680i and a intel core 2 quad for 300, great deal i think, if u want, they also have a Aprevia case with a 800w PSU, and a great deal on 9800GTX
