If you've got more money, I would get an HD4850/70 over that nVidia 9600GT. I'm not very good with AMD processors and such so I won't comment on that. PSU looks good. RAM looks good. Overall pretty good, I would just look into a better graphics card. And if you're going to do gaming, I would recommend an E3110 (Intel) over that Quad.

Yep, go with the HD 4870, you could squeeze it into your budget and it's over twice as fast as the 9600GT. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814103061
You even get a combo deal with the HD 4870 + the Phenom 9950.

You can't beat the Phenom 9950 for $235 if you're not overclocking, and even if you will be, they're all hitting 3GHz+, and the gems are hitting 3.5GHz+.

I would also recommend going with a 790FX board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130136
They are much more suited to running the Phenom's than the 780G.

And you can go for some cheaper memory too if you need to: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220314

yep, everything looks good, except for the graphics card.
for $5 more you could get the 8800GT, which performs way better

or the dual slot edition which i recently got
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130359

or for $20 more than the 9600GT, get the 4850
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102747

the 4850 beats the 8800GT
If you are on a budget, get the 8800GT and keep the AMD.
AMD is pretty much for people that are on a budget.
The board is okay, and not great, my friend used to have one, the chipset would get so hot, then he broke it by ocing too much and returned it to micro saying it wont post.
i would try to get more cash and get this

its the one i have, except i have V1, and it works great.
