Hi everyone. I need a cheap gaming computer built with this processor.

Since I have no idea what I need for a computer, (My friend builds them, he just said I have to get the parts on my own) I would like someone to help me pick out which parts I need without exceeding a $600 budget. Since I have no idea which motherboard supports what, I thought maybe someone could help me choose cheap parts that will go well with this cpu. Also I'm planning to get an 8800 gt vid card, so lets keep that out of the way.

Cheap Gamer? AMD X2 5000 + HD4850 + 2GB DDR2-800 + whatever hard drive you want.

nowadays, CPU's don't make much of a difference in gaming. Running COD4 or Crysis on an X2 5000 vs. an E6750 or E8400 will be probably unnoticeable. at most, like 3-5 more fps. worth the extra $100-something? hell no

600!
is that it?
thats not alot
how many gpus do u want?
1 2 or 3?
that will help tell us what mobo you should get
if you going with 1 or 2
the you could get by with a 680i (if using nvidia)
if you want 3 then you MUST get a 780i mobo
and then do you want a sound card?
or internal wirless?
or what else do you want in this thing
1 or 2 optical drives?
a dvd or blu-ray
or just a cd?

I'm assuming he already has the processor, or at least it was implied when he stated that he wanted the system to be built around that specific cpu...

like Joga said, check out the "New build Guide", your system should already be cheaper because you don't need the processor, just make sure all the other parts are compatible and you're set...
