I put to much thermal compound on my processor now my computer wont work!

get your hands on some rubbing alcohol and soak the pins in it for a short amount of time. 1-3 minutes should be enough to loosen the compound. then very carefully use a q-tip to clean off the pins. IF after doing so the computer still does not boot i need the exact model number of your mobo to check and see if it supports X2 processors.

it does it is the same processor I have always used. I just bought a new heatsink and fan and bam! Doesnt work.

did u apply the paste with the processor in or out?? it should have been in the mobo. U might have fried it, have you tried it after cleaning the pins?

AS5 is electrically conductive, if you used that you may have fried the cpu/board.

No it isn't. It is electrically capacitive.
