Annoying IE Pop Up

when i try to close my internet explorer a pop up appears saying " Microsoft Internet Explorer Has Encountered A problem & Must Shut Down." my O/S is Windows XP Home and My browser is ie7. how can i get rid of this pop up & what could be the cause of it please?

IE7 is currupt maybe?

Best way to see if this is a virus or not, is to get a different browser like FireFox and see if that works.

id reinstall ie7 and see if it does it then only then would i run a virus scan

Why not run a virus scan? It couldn't hurt. Personally, I doubt that is the problem, but if he is getting pop ups then it is always a possibility.
