G84 is a card we should avoid because of this right?

true that is a G92 or is it false?
and is the extra 256 mb worth $30 if the leadtek is a G92?

Get the eVGA. It'll be worth it in the long run.

I'm pretty sure the Leadtek is G92, but the eVGA cards are much better.

Oops. I meant G80. The G84 is used in the 8600 series cards

Huh. . . I guess I was wrong. It looks like the Leadtek is G92 based. It has the full 112 stream processors. Everything I have read suggests it is the G92 core.

If you aren't playing in a real large resolution, the 256MB card will work. The more video memory you have the higher you can go in resolution and keep good frame rates. Higher VRAM also takes some of the work off the system making games run better.

Personally, I would get the 512MB card. We have three of them in this house and none of us have any complaints.

started to read the reviews, and it seemed like not many people liked the 8800GT dual slot because it just gets hot, and they said that they used riva tuner to make the fan faster, but became really loud, but how loud is it?
i have 7 120mm fans in my case.
and how much of you have a dual slot graphics card, or do you guys just went with a single slot?
i am like really close to getting the 8800GT dual slot. i already sold my x1950 and now using my x700.
i am having second thoughts, and cant decide on if i should listen to the people in the forum and go with the dual slot, or listen to the reviews and go with the second slot.
i guess what i am trying to say, is that i need like 2 people to give me thumbs up of getting which one so i wont regret it when i get it.
i always have a hard time deciding what to get if i never got it before.
If i dont get any post within like the hour, then i guess i'll just go with the dual slot one.

After reading about a guy that got his fried EVGA 8800GTX's replaced after a loose ramsink fell off the top card, I'll buy EVGA for Nvidia cards now. He told them that the ram sink fell off too.

well, i bought the 8800GT.
i bought the Dual Slot Edition.

lets just hope all works well when it arrives and i get to enjoy it.
One cool thing is that this will be my first brand spankin new Graphics card.
Every kind of graphics card i bought for myself was either Recertified, or an Open-Box

wow, newegg says that they already shipped my order.
thats fast, it usually takes like 1 whole day for them to pack and ship when i order.
maybe they are not as busy as before anymore?
