New build i think

I'm thinking bout a new build but i have no idea where to start. After finding out that my motherboard is one of the few that cant backwards compailty with pci xpress 2.0 i got depressed. (a8v-XE) so i had to send back my 8800 GT =( *cry* so i need a new motherboard and processor i already got a good scope on some video cards but i do not what motherboard i should get.

Hopefully motherboard isn't over $150

what do you want to do with it?
and if you are going to buy a new mobo you could have kept the GPU
