dvd player audio issues

everytime i play a movie on my laptop dvd the audio gets fuzzy and lags like its skipping.

i dont have this problem with games in my drive nor any streamed audio or audio i have on my hd. it only happens when i play a dvd.

i have updated my drivers to no resolve.

i using xp media edition..

that didnt work either.. i wonder if its a hardware issue
