xp antivirus removal

alright so some how i got the "xp anti virus 2008" torjan and all the random shit it come with. Ive removed most of it with spy hunter. ad aware does not even detect it and kapersky did not help much ether. it changed my desktop back ground and now when i go to the display window there is no longer a tab to even change it back any ideas? and it still tries to start up on windows start up

Try running hijackthis. Also you could try looking in the registry for any remnants of it and delete them. Just make sure you know what you're deleting. As for the start up, you could try getting rid of that in MSCONFIG, or download winpatrol to stop it from coming up.

EDIT: Here's a removal tool: http://fix-computer-problem.com/rogue-antispyware/xpantivirus/xpantivirus.html You don't necessarily have to download it but you could try deleting the registry keys and files it says to delete.
