What has driver updating come to???!!!

I don't mind paying the extra $$. I'll always have it just in case. Btw, what's the difference between OEM Vista and Retail Vista?

yeah paying for vista is so worth paying for.. such a great OS

If you don't like Vista, try Linux of Mac OS. No one's forcing you to use it.

Better yet, make your own operating system.

I was thinking about buying an OEM Vista OS. What do you guys think? Give up some money on the rig for Vista? I sure like the looks.
Buy a system that was made for Vista. You'll run into less problems.

Yeah. I'm going to build a new rig. I don't know prices on OEM, so I don't know how much I'll have leftover to spend. I might just wait until my birthday to pile in the extra cash and then build it.

edit: Wait, do you mean like a brand name system?

OEM is meant to be on one computer and cannot be transferred from an old system onto a new one (legally). Retail license can be uninstalled from one computer and put onto another computer.

Yes! I reformated, installed drivers, installed applications, I'll do Windows Updates tomorrow. But it's all working.

Well I'll be building my own at the end of the year. 4GB of RAM. That's the only thing I'm for sure. Everything else I'll still decide, especially the processor. But I'll worry about that when I actually go and buy it.
