I just finished up the order and should be on its way. The only thing is its Friday, and I have to wait till Monday to get it.

Yes, you just can't crossfire them in an Nvidia board.

The 4870 has shown preety good results in benchmarking, especially for the price. The GTX 280 is too expensive, while this one shows a good alternative. Apparantly, the 4870 X2 is known to beat the GTX 280, for half the price.

As for being fanboy, I don't follow that. I just choose what's right for me.

It doesn't just beat the 9800GTX black and blue, it also takes the lead over the $400 GTX 260. And in COD4, Bioshock, Quake Wars, Assassin's Creed, it even beats the GTX 280.

id say the 9800 is a better deal being that its 100 bucks cheaper and soon to be even less i bet you

But at slightly cheaper than the 9800GTX, there's the HD 4850, which has exactly the same advantages that the HD 4870 has over the GTX.

Nvidia don't have the headroom to lower the GTX 260 to below $300 where it needs to be to compete with the HD 4870, and one of the reasons they are moving G92 to the 55nm half node process is because 65nm yields are so poor. The 9800GTX can't go any lower and still make a profit. That's why they're bringing in the GTX+, which I still think needs to be sub $200. Nvidia's share price is coming down like an avalanche..

And there's one other thing, that stuff's been on the way from Newegg for a long time, don't you think?

trust me there selling there cards to new egg for 3x less
i work in retail to make a profit and allow for other items not being sold
to not impact your profit you have to times the price you pay by 3
and remember if it costs nvidia x money to make it
there timeing x by at lest 3 probably more

its actually the first time that ive had a GPU in a pc
or going into one
