what are your opinions
or suggestions for my monster of a pc build?
thanks for any help

That thing comes with a 600W Ultra X-Pro power supply. That's a very good unit and should be enough for your needs.

But, if you feel you need a more "stout" unit, a good quality power supply would be an Antec TPQ-850 850W for $149.99.

You mean this one?

To be honest, it's a waste. Most of your computer's components draw power from the +12 volt rail. It is most important to have a lot of power (measured in amperes, or amps) on the +12V rail(s). That 850 watt Antec has a combined total of 72A on the +12V rails.

Now, look at this 700W Thermaltake I posted for $50 cheaper after MIR:

It has the exact same +12V rail configuration as that 850W Antec. It's sort of a marketing scheme, to beef up the other rails that aren't as important, in order to rate it as higher wattage.

do you think that a 700W PSU will be enough?
for everything that will go into that case
including 24+ LEDs?
and 3 12v fans?
thats my only concern

Hmm. . .

Lets see:
Antec 850W
4 - +12V rails @ 18A
+3.3V @ 25A
+5V @ 30A

Thermaltake 700W
4 +12V rails @ 18A
+3.3 @ 30A
+5V @ 28A

It looks to me like Thermaltake "beefed up the other rails that aren't as important, in order to rate it as higher wattage."

I wouldn't call the Antec a waste at all. It has high power, great reliability and is backed by excellent customer service. 150W more than the Thermaltake at the same price sounds like a good deal to me. I haven't known any of the high quality PSU manufacturers to "fudge" it's numbers to get a higher rating.

What are you talking about...who cares about the +3.3 and +5V rails? They don't matter, no matter what both PSUs are gonna have more than enough power there. All that matters is that the Thermaltake has the same amount of power on the +12V rails for less money.

And after the MIR, the Thermaltake is $50 cheaper. And they pretty much have the same amount of power (on the +12V rails, which is all that really matters)
