Is it normal for laptop to turn off when overheating?

I got the hp dv4000 and have had no over heating probs. As caveman showed, maybe a dust buildup is what caused it. Get something to blow dust out with, or open it up and blow it out. Personally I would have given up on the second board... I like HP, but not that much.

First, wtf is kommiefornia? I shouldn't be surprised people like you are A**holes! I know the question might have been kind of dumb to ask but you don't have to be a jerk and reply stupid s**t all you got to do is not comment!
