slow dsl

hey guys, haven't been on in a few months, mainly because it's been smooth sailing. just upgraded to 3mbps dsl because it was only $6 more than 1mbps problem is is that i'm only getting 1.3 . any ideas? the isp is windstream.

how long ago did u "Upgrade" cuz it takes about 2 or 3 days for them to get stuff done on their end. if its been longer then that id call ur ISP

it's been about 6 days since we got the new modem. i've tested periodicaly since i've gotten in and the highsets i've gotten so far is 1400 and something kbps.

what determines your speed anyhow? it is you dsl box or your provider?

i pay for 3 and get ~3

speedtest(dot)net isn't the most accurate, it is ALWAYS alot lower. like when i actually download stuff i get 3 but on speed test this is what i get

i'd be happy with that but i'm only getting 1.3 on downloads (~160 KB/s)

i HATE my upload rate! I used to have 10m down and 1.5m up. They downgraded the service in our area though basturds
