thanks for the help

dude, if you're gonna get a 8800GT, DO NOT screw around with a cheap ass psu, you'll regret it, get a decent one that...well...has actual power connectors for a graphics card...

   ...

You connect the 2:1 connector to the molex plugs on the psu and there is a 6 pin socket on the side of the card (not shown in your pic)

^^ wol-va-rine is technically correct with his post but I believe if you already have the psu and the rest of your specs are what is in your sig then you'll probably be fine with that psu.

ok thanks so i plug in both of the 4 pin white (molex) to my power supply not just one?

a decent power supply is one of the most important parts of a good system, that "chiefmax" sounds too much like a powmax assassin I had, it didn't even last a year, I came home from work one day and the only thing it had "assassinated" was my system, jmo, but do yourself a favor and get a good psu to go with that 8800...

sorry if I came across the wrong way, too harsh maybe...?

I'm not familiar with the brand but was just going by the (weird) listed specs (12-inch ATX power connector, presumably cable length???) and from the way I read the op he already owns the psu, I may have interpreted his post incorrectly.

If they are a dodgy brand of psu then I would have to agree with replacement.

Not too harsh imo, it was good advice, maybe phrased differently would have "softened" it, I mean we still don't know if he is thinking of purchasing that psu or already owns it.

lol same here, i had a powmax case and it came with a psu, died within a year, overheated. luckly it didnt destroy my system. now i have a silverstone, talk about a quality difference.

oh and chiefmax IS powmax! http://chiefmax.com http://powmax.com (look at their micro atx cases)

yeah, I got the psu for $25 with a $25 mail in rebate, "wow, a free psu...? they must be trying to get their name out there by having a special giveaway...!!!", wrong, they were just trying to sell some crap psus with enticements of rebates that were probably never processed, I will never again buy anything without doing some research first...

if I was the original poster I'd order a decent one and just use the chiefmax until the other psu arrived...
