Yeah I just noticed that between 2001 and 2003 the Processing power doubled and we had reason to upgrade so soon(1.5Ghz to 3Ghz by 2003) but afterwards it got hardly anywhere(2003-2005 was 3Ghz-3.8Ghz) yet we still were in that same mindset of upgrading. Afterwards we got dual core and quad core but we still maybe max out at 4Ghz (although it is much faster than comparable processor before) but we still pay so much to gain that extra 200Mhz.
On a side note GPU's just skyrocketed in performance during the same periods. You can buy a new GPU 2 times a year and still see huge increases in performance.
