file type

Hi i have a program on my compuetrwitht the file type "file" what program do i need to open this?

Right click on the file and go to "properties" and look to see what the file extension is. It will be something like this .wmv or .jpg. Then you can find out what program you need to open it.

i had this problem. downloaded a game once and was a "file".
it doesnt have an extension ^
thats the problem lol. if its a video try renaming it file.avi
or an mp3 file.mp3, etc...

When i right mouse click on and go to properties it says "file". Its a program so what should i rename the file? should it be .exe or something? The file size is one file of 1.6GB. Or should i rename it .iso? i just have no idea how to get it to work

it could be anything.
try .rar or .iso
when this happened to me i just deleted the file, it never worked

On a right click propertys,how is it described ?
eg:shortcut,maybe to what.

what kind of file do you think it is? in other words, were you downloading a game, or a video, or a song?
