hi im a complete noob at building a computer so i want some support

what watt of psu do i need

amd athlon 64x2 6400+ black
asus crosshair mobo
2gb TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX dual channel
leadtek 8800 gts 640 mb
6x 500gb wdc sata hdd
3 burners
thermaltake bigwater 753
6x 12cm blue led coolermaster fan
coolermaster cosmos s case

and that is current running on 520 watt corsair some ppl say its enough but to be sure i ask arround

520 Watt may be pushing it id reccoment 600Watt atleast.

id reccoment 650W to be sure though, im pretty sure if you every had your comp under full load then you would start freezing up due to lack of power, but i doubt ull every go full load with a rig like that,

still id def think bout upgrading

That system would pull around 300W max at 100% load. You'd ben fine with a quality 450W PSU. You'd want 500W+ though with more than 30A on the 12V rails for future upgradability.

The Corsair is more than enough.

thats odd then i wonder what i did do diffrent

ok found out but i come arround 616 watt now thats including card reader

and w/o card reader and dvd burners i come arround 526watt

humm i has still a spare psu BeQuiet 530W Dark Power

If your system is stable in it's current configuration, then I'd say your Corsair PSU is handling the job just fine. :D

well it could be it isnt running smooth w/o ocing compare to my amd 64 3500+ 2.2ghz (3ghz oc) with ati readon x700pro 256mb but i wonder what it could be

old com is and

amd 64 3500+ 2.2ghz (3ghz oc)
dual channel corsair 512 mb
939Dual-VSTA mobo (even part demaged)
at readon x700pro agp8x 256 mb
2x 250gb wd ide hdd
2x nec ide burner
cpu cooler zalman CNPS7700-Cu

i think somethign aint working smooth in here

1st time i has ocz ddr2 4-4-4-15 on this asus mobo but 1 ram stip demaged somehow so i returned it and changed it for corsair 4-4-4-12 thers a chance the mobo might be demaged but then again it dont show any errors like my asrock one of my old pc
