Exactly why David doesn't allow it. A spammer, or ticked-off member could easily use an HTML post to re-direct people who click into a thread onto a porn site or something.

and that would be near impossible for the mods to solve cos they would get redirected to it too
As for updating to the new vb nobody seems to disagree yet

yes v bulletin has a way of doing that , however with the whole language warning issues i think the current system of just positng links works fine

The new features of 3.7 are neat... the whole social networking interface takes a bit of getting used to at first but in the end it's a great improvement over the current profile system.

HTML is a security no no. You might as well hand out the admin and server ID's and passwords. The way tempers flair around here from time to time it could turn in to a real disaster.

Definitely true. I don't know why people need it that badly anyway. BBCode is customizable and you can embed Youtube videos if David added the youtube bbcode.

Why would you even want to embed Youtube videos? It's more than easy enough to just post a link, and for those members who still use dialup embedded videos would just be a huge pain.

Anyway, it should be a given that everyone wants to update. The question is will David take the effort to do it?

^I agree linking is easy enough, but having the YouTube video in your post would be somewhat useful in cases of a For sale Thread or something like that. Even so, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think embedded videos download until you activate them by clicking on them.
