wow, we've said the word legal a lot... of course its all legal ...
@ssc456, well i usually get about 450kb/s max, and rapidshare gets near to that. torrents get 200-400kb/s and recently i think my isp slows them down till after 11pm

torrents will never beat high speed direct links, such as rapidshare.
for a free and easy solution its great. i always use them to download "legal" stuff

Yeah I find torrents are unbelievably slow, unlike with rapidshare it is so much quciker.
But no I have never had to use a proxy when dl'ing legal torrents and I would not need a use as I don't download illegal stuff

yep thats about right, so it really does depends if your downloading something popular that say 1000 people are seeding with decent uploads and only 100 people are downloading then you will get fast speed, sadly this isnt always the case lol.

rapishare and megaupload do my head in, for some reason i keep failing the captchas and have to wait a min before trying again.

i have no idea why i fail the captchas i do it on other things aswell wen im 100% certain its right lol.

I Find rapidshare and torrents to download at the same speeds,i think it's because my internet's download speed bottoms out at around 60Kbps.

damn 60 kb i remember them days lol, i cudnt live without 8MB now going down to 2 or 1 again wud kill me.

it doesnt sound like alot off difference but downloading a soing for instance on 8mb.
