With a simple multiplier change, this can be running at 3.0GHz, even further if you care to tweak and fiddle with the voltages.

It will perform far better and will have better HD/Blu-Ray encoding/playback capabilities.

Also, you'll be able to pair it with the IGP of the 780G chipset to get much better performance and great HD/Blu Ray playback and encoding.

If your budget is tight, lose the sound card. Also I've heard bad things about Rosewill PSUs. If that goes out, it can take your whole system, if you splurge on anything it should be that. Your original Thermaltake PSU was better. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153023
430W should be enough to power what you got there anyway. Or you can go with a different one altogether, just not Rosewill.

Thanks for the replies.

The on board sound is horrid thats why I'm buying pci sound.
I exchanged the PSU to this one.
Do you think I will be able to OC the 8500GT at all? Or should I just ditch the pci cooler.

Seriously. Ditch the 8500GT and go with the 780G and the HD 3650, you will get much better performance for the same price. Plus you get Phenom support with the AM2+ socket.

And ditch the PCI cooler, you don't need it.

I agree. And about the PSU.. I forgot what you had, a 400w or something.. There will be things you want in the future. I got a 610w PSU and it's borderline for what I need. If you want a TV tuner it's going to take at least 550w a better mother board, so you don't have to buy one for your next build.. mine also takes at least 500w. Just filling you in.. not much people get a bunch of extra cool stuff anyways

and I know yo have a budget.. but Quad core is a BIG step up from dual lose the sound card and get quad...
