So i'm leaving the parents soon to get my own place with a friend and we want a good router, one that doesn't fubar all the time (like my current Linksys). So i was wondering which ones work the best with multiple PCs and game consoles connected at the same time. Also it'd be nice if it had a pretty good number of ports on it, like 6-10 or so. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Forgot to add, it needs to be wireless too for laptops.

all i know of is the 5 port linksys and mine works great we hav like 10 people on it and its fine. other companies, maybe netgear or cycsco (if they make them) but i don't know any better ones than them.

yeah forgot about them o i have one of there routers and it works fine too.

Ok cool, might look into Belkin, i've never been happy with Linksys. What can i do about ports?

well as far as i know there is always at least on extra output in the back of the wireless ones pick up a router (non wireless) runn it to that and then that to all othere pcs, or run to a hub (will have att minimal 20)

Cool that might be what i need. Does anyone know if Motorolla makes a router? For some reason i think i remember a friend saying that Motorolla made an excellent router.

Go Linksys, D-Link, or Netgear. D-Link has been the best for me so far.

Your best option is going to be getting a regular wireless router that has something like 4 wired ports, and then getting a separate hub that has more.

First, the router.
Do you want wireless N (draft)? If so, I have this router, and it's amazing:

You're going to have to pay a price premium for 802.11N though.

I know you said you didn't want Linksys, but honestly this is the best wireless router for the price:

If you install the dd-wrt firmware, it's amazing:

Then you need a hub. Doesn't really matter, just something cheap with enough ports, preferably a good brand name too:

Under $20 after MIR.
