Make sure that you've tried booting up with nothing plugged into your PC but keyboard, mouse, (power of course), and monitor. Only plug in the HDD (set the jumper to master and plug in the master end of the IDE cable onto the IDE0 channel. Go into BIOS and make sure that you are only booting to your HDD and make sure everything else is disabled or after your HDD boot. As others have mentioned, the beep pattern seems to not be associated with an HDD but there's a first time for everything. Also, use Memtest to check out your RAM..that still could be part of the problem..who knows. Also, I've experienced fault in IDE cables, and I've experienced putting them in backwards, so check that too..
