Well, I found a wallpaper for myself that has a lot of white in it, so it makes looking at my desktop icons a bit hard on the eyes, the white on white doesn't work, only reason I can make out my folders from each other is the shadow effects. So does anyone know how I can go about changing my desktop icon fonts to black? Through windows or through a third party program, s'all good.

Thanks! - kchi55

In XP, to get black text under your icons, turn off the drop shadows on the text. To do so go Control Panel > System > Advanced tab. Click on the Performance button. Scroll down the menu and un-check "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop".
