Is this a core duo '2'

Hey guys, could you please tell me if this is a 'core duo 2' or a 'core duo', im looking at buying a core duo 2 off a guy off ebay & he said he's not sure & supplied me with this picture so I could ask people that may know.

Can anybody please help? Thanks for reading.

It's a core 2 duo. Mines shows just like that on both of my machines.

It's just a standard dual core CPU.All Hyper-threaded and dual core CPU's look like that.

The only real way to tell is from the numbers off the top of the chip.

Have him download and run CPU-Z. That may do the trick to identify the chip.

It's a standard E6600 dual core (Core2Duo as opposed to a Core2Quad), does he know the sSpec number?

The E6600 SL9S8 is the better of the two as it has THERMTRIP# enabled whereas the E6600 SL9ZL does not.
