Okay, first of all, who in their right mind would sign up for a web hosting service after hearing anyone claim that they are in financial trouble and/or in danger of closing?

I am sorry, but if sympathy-based advertising worked for a for-profit organization, chances are you would a LOT more companies utilizing it. Try advertising the value of the service, rather than how if not enough people sign up, it might close and you might lose everything.
