Hi everyone - my HP Pavilion laptop is about due for a reformat and I'm being sent the recovery disks next week from HP. A lot of the reason is just i've been using it for a while, doing some unclean driver installs and stuff and Vista SP2 won't install on my laptop so I feel like a reformat will really help clear things up
Is there a good way to do a really thorough formatting of all disks because on my other drive (I have two drives, both 100GB 7200RPM) I've experimented with installing Linux, XP, Mac, etc... I'd like to just do my full factory settings reformat (it came with Vista Ultimate x64).
Are there some programs I can run to completely destroy everything on the drives so that no drive space is wasted on old files or bad reformatting?
Obviously I'll back up all the files I need on a flash drive
Thank you!
