however the windows vista on my laptop is legal

XP legal, Vista I'm not too sure about. Bought my desktop off ebay and it came with Vista + a shady disk. My guess is that it isn't too legal.

The only part of mine that is illegal is the fact that I don't have the keys on the side of the computer. Other than that, i've paid for them all.

How is that illegal? If you buy the OS from a retail store, the keys won't be on the computer...
