Beeping noise. No video.

Heya,

I am running Windows xP Home 64-bit. 4GB of RAM.

When I turn my computer on, it makes two quick beeping noises, followed by 7 or 8 beeps in a row. All the fans including that on my graphics card are spinning. However, my monitor remains black. It won't show anything. I've managed to turn my computer on once while having it beep, but it doesn't want to turn on anymore. Any suggestions?

Bascially, its like my computer is running after making beeping noises, but nothing is showing up on my monitor. And yes, the monitor cable is connected to the computer.

It works now...for now anyway ^^

All I did was re-insert the RAM. Strange, huh?

Not too strange. Sometimes the contacts become anodized and lose some conductivity causing the problems you have experienced. Just removing and reseating the memory sometimes clears up the problem.

yeah i lloked at bios beeps chart and it said video card nneds reseating its just every now and then parts come out of slots its good to reseat every 6 months or so.
