We have absolutely no idea how valid these results are. Yet there are some results floating on the web showing regarding ATI's upcoming ATI HD 4870 512MB ATI HD 4870 versus the 1GB GeForce 9800 GX2. Included are Crysis and 3DMark06 results.

Let me state that anyone can make this stuff up and re-produce some nice charts. But if true .. very interesting as it would certainly seem that the new Radeon is an impressive contender. A well .. fingers crossed.

But the second link states that RV770XT is 25% faster than the 9800GTX. The 9800GTX really isn't that much slower than the GX2 in a lot of games because of it's higher clock speeds and the fact the SLI sucks. The HD 4870 could well be faster than the GX2 in a few benches. Even if it is only in 3DMark and Crysis.

Well, we'll just have to wait and see now.

But then, I'm sure no sooner than the 4870 is released, Nvidia will have one of their own cards come out that's faster than it. The cycle seems never ending.
