Hey all, my first post here, looks like a good site!

Anywhoo, I just got my new build, and so far its runing insanely smooth with no glitches (surprising considering I buit it :p), except one thing:
My 500GB HDD that I'll be using to offload video from my camera to for editing shows up in the BIOS and Device Manager, but not My Computer or anywhere else that would allow me to access or modify it. The jumper pin is in the right place, I double checked the BIOS settings, everything is as it should be. I cant figure it out.
specs:
AMD Athalon 64X2 5000+ DualCore
3GB DDR2 800MHZ RAM
Biostar A770 AM2 mobo
Rosewill Stalion 500W
XFX Ge-Force 8600GT
segate Barracuda 80GB 7200RPM IDE
segate barracuda 500GB 7200RPM IDE (the one I am having trouble with)
WinXP Pro SP2

Any help would be great, I really need the 500 to work as I cant store uncompressed video on an 80GB drive.

Later,
Dory

It's there. It just needs partitioning.

Follow this:

Click on Start then Right Click on My Computer then click on Manage.

You should have the Computer Management on your screen.

In the bigger part of this window click on Storage then select Disk Management(Local)

You'll probably find the 500GB drive here but it's in black. Partition it then it will show up and be ready for use.

Hey guys I did this to find a 500GB SATA drive I have. But to initialize the drive, should I select MBR or GUID? (MBR is for boot drives only, right?)
