now, he would like to buy a computer from a big brand so he can finance it and pay monthly payments.

doesnt new egg have that whole 1000 or more dollar's and you can pay payments intrest free for like 12 months??? just build him one yourself, for 1500 you can get a really good machine

Just make sure you get one without the bloatware.
They give you all the programs that you will never use.
It's a pain to try and delete these programs.

If he doesn't want to build one, or you don't want to build one for him, then you can go with any pre-built PCs including ones from ibuypower.com. Some people love them, some people hate them, but they sell non-brand computers that are cheaper than brand-names and offer more bang for the buck. They also have payment options.

theve increased in quality since ive gotten mine

but ill let him know his options, he just really likes that gateway from bestbuy

dell or acer. acer owns gateway so really it is the same stuff different names and cases or it should be any ways.
