when using my laptop with xp on it, i want to get rid of the windows wireless status icon in the lower right system tray because i am using a belkin wireless card and i already have that icon there. i don't really want both icons there. is there a way?

-Right click the task bar
-Properties
-"Customize..." button
-Find the icon(s) you want to hide, and switch them to "Always hide" in the drop down box.

i don't have mine set to hide inactive icon, so that's not working for me...i went in and checked hide inactive icons and then i could do what you said, but i don't really want to hide it,,i want to make it not display down there at all. any way to do that?

But if you set it to Always Hide, it should never show up unless you click the little show hidden icons arrow.

yeah, but i kind of like not having to hide any of my icons and being stuck with that arrow in a circle thing there...i was hoping to just be able to make it not show up there at all because i like it better when i'm not hiding my inactive icons.
