i did this for linux once, i should be able to do it with windows

i made a tiny partition (like 2gb), and put the Linux installation CD's iso on there, and put some special file, and then my computer was tricked into thinking that was a CD, and installed like it would as a cd

can i do that with xp?

I think you mean live cd, you can do that with linux, it boots from the cd but does not install anything onto the pc, it just runs the os from the cd. You cant do that with windows.

Basically, you use PowerISO for Windows. It uses an ISO image and mounts it into a virtual CD-ROM drive.
