What wires do I need to fully connect the floppy drive to the system? Is it just 1 FDD cable?

This is the floppy drive I have http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16821103203
It has the FDD connection and a 4 pin connector as well, do I need to use the 4 pin connect for something? I don't think I have that wire… or will the FDD cable provide the data transfer as well as the power?

Thanks

The four wires are for the power.
You can buy adapters anywhere.

This will connect to the big connector.

And the 4 pin connector connects to your PSU.

You should have one of these connectors coming from your PSU to connect to these pins.

yes thats the FDD cable, I have it, is that All I need to make the drive fully work?

Correct. You need to power the drive via the 4 pin connector.

Thank you for detailed pictures they really helped :D Now that I think about it, I should be able to remove the wire from my current pc and use it for the new one:D yayayaya

:D

This is the adaptor lead you would need if your PSU doesn't provide the floppy power connector already.

What PSU have you got?
