So my sis broke our family camera. Not sure how but it wont focus.

I broke it even more when I took the front of the lens off and now the lens wont retract or go back in.

Now what do I do??

:(

Buy a new camera, an SD1000 isn't too pricey nowadays, there are newer models out. The cost of repairs would probably exceed the cost of another SD1000, which you could relatively easily find for under the $150 price point IIRC.

Then again, ghost's suggestions weren't too bad either. :D

Sorry to hear that it's broken though =/.

Its my moms camera really, she paid like 217 for it not too long ago and were gona buy a new dishwasher soon so I dunno if she wants to get a new camera too.

I feel bad though, cus I made it worse by messing around w/ it. The focus problem is a canon defect foud is most sd1000's that they fix very easily. My dumb self had to mess around with it, and now its even more of a problem.

Anyone think I can just close it up and send it to cannon?

Probably voided the warranty if it had one by opening it. Sending it to Canon will probably cost an arm and a leg to get it fixed. Best suggestions are above, use old as paperweight and get a used one for cheaper. Since money's a big deal, there's probably nothing you can do.
