hey guys

i have one of my friend's emachine t2862 and i was re-installing xp home on it.

the install went fine, and i took the drivers off of it before the install (c:/drivers) and i reinstalled all the drivers, the only ones that didnt work were the video and ethernet controller.

i googled for the drivers cause they werent on emachines site, and i found them on yahoo answers or something, so i downloaded them and the only one not working now is ethernet controller.

it has an exclamation point by it on the device manager, and the internet is not working.

it is a built in ethernet also.

start pouring the ideas on how to get this to work.

soooo then...how 'bout some rep points?! :) :)

i uninstalled that file up there, and i installed another one i found earlier.

so now when i go into dm there are two under network adapters:

one says... intel(r) pro/100 ve network connectoin

the other... linksys nc100 fast ethernet adapter

the first one has a red "x" cause i disabled it.

but the internet still isnt working, and it's plugged up to ethernet.

thoughts?

ummmm un disable it lol,

so they are now installed ?

jus try going to start then run then typ "cmd" then type "ipconfig" and tell us what your results are.

Thanks very muchly for the rep points!

By the way if nothing is working for you you can get a £5 ethernet pci card from pcworld.co.uk, last option is to buy something which you already have in your pc but doesnt work.
