second one seems to me its faster but i aint no pro in graphics, but someone will help soon.

but from what i know aint gddr3 better then ddr? and its also 1ghz memory

i don't know but i think the gddr3 makes it better

depends on what you want to do... (gaming, editing, hi-def movies) do you have a large monitor?

and i am guessing that you want to spend a max of about 130$ so..

1. i would not buy from there... look at this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814134038
that is a 9600gt at an excellent price.

I have SLi as in my sig, it shows no performance difference unless the game itself is optimized that way...

Just get one good card and be happy with it. and GDDR3 is better than DDR by far...

I do have dual 17's hooked up now and yes it is my gaming PC just was not sure if the performance would be better with two video cards or 1 really good one. just thinking of future games like D3, COD4, BF2... etc

I would agree with Verbatim, the 9600GT is over at least 50% faster and cost only $10 more, also if you are playing at no more that 1280x1024, then the 8800GS is the card you want: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130333 Around the same price except it has 96 stream processors compared to the 9600GT's 64, but it has 384MB of VRAM, which holds it back in newer games at resolutions higher than 1280x1024. In short, it outperforms the 9600GT at lower resolutions, but the 9600GT catches up when you play on a bigger screen.

The general rule is one powerful card is always better than two lower powered cards.

one more thing, SLi will not allow you to run dual monitors. So do not think about going Sli with your dual 17"s just run that 9600gt and you will be very happy with the performance...

You should also consider the HD 3870, it is around the same price as the 9600GT (perhaps $10 more) and usually performs slightly better with AA disabled.
