okay
i was wondering if it is possible to do something like this
have any vid card (for S&G lets say a GeForce 8800Ultra)
have it run 2 monitors
1st be a 22" Wide screen (1680x1050) in that mode
2nd be a 22" Wide screen BUT!
we turn it on its side
so that it now a 1050x1680!
that way its taller than wide
and it would be a lot easier to view web sites with the vertical screen
and one for gaming
any ideas on if this is possible
or how to accomplish this task?
thanks

I know for a fact you can do rotation with the nvidia drivers, not sure about ati but i'm sure they have it too.

I think it is.

We have an o2 store here that uses a wide-screen LCD monitor mounted long ways to advertise the iPhone.

I see what your getting at and I think it's down to the software you have.

so then
NVIDIA drivers are the ticket
any other input?
thanks for the help so far

Yes you can. My monitor actually swivels vertically so you can do that :p

Just right click on your desktop --> Nvidia Control Panel --> Display --> Rotate Display

You can do it with ATI also. I have an ATI X700 Mobile and it has an icon on my taskbar that when I right click it has -> Rotations.

finding a screen that can rotate 180* in a rotational direction is a pain!
any help is appreciated
greatly appreciated!

okay im still looking for some 22" wide screen LCDs that can go vertical
any help there is appreciated
but now my question is this
i will have 2 different GPUs
and i want my 2nd to be the 1050x1680
and the 1 GPU to be 1680x1050
that is possible
right?
