BIOS update

my computer is kinda old though.

Intel Pentium 4 1.7 ghz
128 + 256 mb ddr266
64 mb geforce2 mx400 videocard
ASUS motherboard built in audio
40 gb HD
ASUS CDR-W
LG DVD

i doubt its a software problem cuz i already formatted it a hundred times and it came up with the same problem. restart without prior notice. :D

I'd be looking at the psu for starters, can you test the 12v rail with a multimeter??

It's not a high power usage pc by any means but a 250W generic no name psu that is failing could very well be the problem

thanks for the reply true folder, but I dont know how to test psu's with gadgets. might as well try my pc with another psu?

It's really not hard to test if you have a multimeter, I can guide you if you want to do it.

If you have another psu then by all means try it out.
