is it the RAM (my board, ASUS P5NSLI, only supports up to 667mhz) that's holding my system back...?

I don't game, but still, shouldn't my score be higher...?

It's your graphics card that's holding you back. The 8500GT is not very powerful at all as 3DMark depends a lot on your GPU.

have you ever ever ever thought your using a diffrent version of 3dmark? they all show diffrent marks, i think if thats 2005 3d mark then thats good

the high score for that version on the website is 32000+, my score was 3222, one tenth of the high score, I knew it wouldn't be close, but didn't expect THAT big of a difference...

That seems like it may be about right. My score was a 9634 I think. (specs in sig)
