For $129.99, it's not worth the upgrade. You will see minimal improvement with the 8600GT over your 8500GT.

For the same price, you can get a much better card: XFX GeForce 8800GT 256MB.

Even for $50 it would be a waste of money. Save your pennies for something in the 8800 range. You will be much happier in the long run.

edit: and a good 450watt-500watt psu since I cant SLI in this thing
