doesn't that sm. little program memtest 86 tell you the type of ram and how much ram you have while testing it ? i haven't used this program ....so not sure.
pcwizard, it has the regular download to install it on your computer, but also has a portable version to put on a flash drive, very handy if you're gonna check out a friend's computer...
run it, then click on the hardware tab on the left, and then click on physical memory, the window below will tell you everything you want to know about the memory, or any other part of your computer, it's a must have program imo...
Im glad you found out what you needed but just for future reference try going to Crucial website and running there online scan it will tell you your ram, graphics card, hdd etc http://www.crucial.com/
