how to overclock?

isnt like all the factory built desktops (I.E HP, Gateway, Dell) lock up their overclocking in the bios because overclocking is dangerous and dont want their customers damaging their computers and wanting a return with their warraty?

pretty much yes.

Ok.

So it's gonna be a new mobo and, I guess, CPU for you.

EDIT: Hang on...

If you know your BIOS then look in there and see if you have the necessary settings that allow you to OC.

Even if they are there and you achieve a small OC at least it gives you some practice.

:)

ahh crud...

what in the world is BIOS and how do i get in there?

basic input-output system, basically it detects hardware and allows you to make certain changes.

to access bios you need to press a key when you start the computer. It will tell you which key to press, but usually it's either delete or one of the F keys.

As above.

Look closely at the screen during startup.

Look for something like 'Press ## To Enter Setup' or something similar.

Do what it says to enter the BIOS.

See ya there...:)
