AMD looks good my current computer has an AMD XP proccesor and its pretty nice. For the Ram are there any cheap fans I could put on them?

Your memory won't need extra cooling unless you increase the voltages, which you won't be doing because you aren't going to be OC'ing.
Could you please tell me what you will be doing with the PC?

Sorry, missed that bit. Modern games are much more GPU dependant so dropping Intel so you can get a 8800GT/HD 3870 is the best option. The 5000+ X2 is fine for gaming and won't give you any bottlenecks.

No, there isn't a HD 3875, but there is a HD 3870X2, which is basically two RV670 GPUs on a single card/PCB.
