My computer is about 6 or 7 years old now. I have a 2.2Ghz CPU and I just upgraded my RAMs from 1G to 2G but I don't feel or see any difference after. A friend told me that the CPU can have an effect of the power from the RAM. Is this true? Do I need to upgrade my CPU? Any inputs is welcome.:D

What are your full specs? And what are you doing with the computer?

I have the AMD processor with Corsair RAMs running on windows XP. I don't remember what the motherboard is but I'll look into that again. I mainly use the computer for recording using large amount of plug-ins. Hope that helps.:D

OK, so I assume this is an Athlon XP with DDR RAM. Am I correct?
For what you're doing with your PC, it should be fine. Have you checked for trojans, spyware? And disabled unneeded startup programs in MSCONFIG? You could also try CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/

Wow. You are a fast responder. Thanks. I really appreciate that.
Well, you are correct. I have the Athlon XP with DDR RAM.
How do you check for trojans and spywares? And how do you disable uneeded startup programs in MSCONFIG? BTW, what is MSCONFIG anyways?:D

How do you check for trojans and spywares?
You can use Spybot Search and Destroy to check for intrusions: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html It's a free utility that works very well.
And how do you disable uneeded startup programs in MSCONFIG? BTW, what is MSCONFIG anyways?
Go Run > and type MSCONFIG. It lets you configure startup programs and processes etc. You can disable unneeded programs in the "startup" tab.

Yes DUDE MAN worship is 100% correct i strongly agree.

Anyway you want to download your self a anti virus aswell. You can google your free AVG and download it

goodluck

Is there a time limit on the free anti-virus? I downloaded one before and it's only limited to 30 days. Is there a way to go unlimited?

Thanks:D

Oh BTW, I just ordered a new CPU yesterday from newegg cause I just don't have that patience anymore. It's an AMD 4000+ 939 socket. It's old but tell me what you guys think. Can't wait til it gets here.

My program kept crashing down saying it's an "Access Violation" and needs to close everytime I perform two or more task at the same time. Plus, I just bought a new 500G HD to install all my programs in. That helps a little.

Gotta go now. See-ya later. Have a nice day.:D
