Hardrive In Freezer Test

well a friend has given me her computer as she keeps a message cannot find media upon boot, but she needs some important files off it,

so first thing i try do is add the hd to my cmop as a secondary drive, and well it took my computer 13 mins to boot and once i was in it picked up the drive but froze every time i tried accessing it,

so my guess is the hardrive is dead, the hardrive is now in my freezer to test if this works,

will post results soon

Yeah,if you discharge a battery fully,and stick it the freezer,and then fully charge it a few times,in some cases it will extend the battery life greatly.

o kk never knew that,

n e ways its been in now since 10 o clock and ive jus finished putting new hardrive in installed windows and drivers,

now jus gonna kill some stuff off msconfig then its time for the big test

LOL! I think the sudden heat will either:

A.Shatter the platters
B. Create Condensation and fry something
C.Short out your PSU.

well im jus sort of stuck after the xp load screen it usually flicks black then flicks to log on screen its not flicking to log on screen lol,

what are the rules of hot plugging ide drives ?

The Best Method of doing this would be with an external hardrive enclosure.
